The OC welcomes the Jewish Federation - Kristallnacht - "Violins of Hope"
Dec 3, 2009 Update: New CTV News clip of "Kristallnacht" has been added.
Audience members were treated to a concert (courtesy of the Land's End Chamber Ensemble - Elizabeth Bergmann, John Lowry, Andrea Neumann, and Beth Root Sandvoss), a film, and able to hear first hand from International acclaimed violin maker and guest of honour - Amnon Weinstein. For more than a decade, Amnon has made it his mission to locate violins played by the Jews in the ghettos, concentration camps and forests of Nazi-occupied Europe during the Holocaust. Weathered and broken, these long abandoned violins have been lovingly restored by Amnon, so that their voices may once again be heard.

The OC hosts the Paws and Claws Gala - A fundraiser for Animals in need. “Homes for Hounds” is a charity created by Coventry Homes in support of the Edmonton Humane Society. The purpose of this event is to raise funds and awareness for helpless animals in need. Featuring 92.5 JOE FM Morning Show Host J’Lyn Nye, This fun filled evening will consist of dinner, entertainment, and a live and silent auction.
